 Meet The Author

Stephanie is a career educator with over 50 years teaching experience encompassing public, corporate, and Christian education. She earned an undergraduate degree from Hunter College and a master’s degree from City College of New York. Her passion has always been improving the educational future of under served, under resourced and at risk youth.

Stephanie and her husband Quinn were the co-founders of New Covenant Christian Association, Inc., a New Jersey based-organization that started from the humble beginnings of $250.00 for the express purpose of establishing and operating a Christian school. Stephanie served as New Covenant Christian Academy's Executive Director while the school operated for 7 years in Plainfield, NJ, making its mark in the community as an innovative leadership academy.

When unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances forced the closure of the school in 2013, Stephanie dug in her heels and became even more determined to offer educational solutions to youth, but also to other constituents as well. For the next 8 years Stephanie spent time doing consulting work in Christian and  charter schools. She offered workshops to community stakeholders to help parents and grandparents in their challenging roles. Stephanie mentored teachers and students, and under her direction NCCA, Inc. provided scholarships to academically promising, financially challenged high school seniors and college students. During that same period Stephanie also served as the Director of Children's Ministry at Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church. Stephanie retired in 2021.

Stephanie is a published author.
WHAT GOD CAN DO With a Slice Of Bread And a Teaspoon of Peanut Butter is a memoir that chronicles the remarkable circumstances that culminated in the opening and first year's operation of New Covenant Christian Academy. Stephanie’s second book, A Blueprint For Building Children: Following God's Plan, was written to assist Christian parents in their challenging role of raising spiritually minded, academically successful, community focused children in today's demanding world.

Stephanie has amassed many awards for her dedicated community service, among them: The Somerset Patriots Community Hero Award, Mack E. Williams Memorial Foundation Sterling Award, the Barbados American Charitable Organization of New Jersey Community Service Award, the Delta Sigma Theta Central Jersey Alumnae Chapter Woman of Achievement Award, and the Malcolm Nelson-Mills Memorial Empowering Positive Growth Award. Her work in the Plainfield community was lauded by Plainfield mayors Sharon Robinson-Briggs and Adrian Mapp. Stephanie and her husband relocated to North Carolina in September 2022. They have three adult children and two grandchildren.
